Now that you are all set for your party, time to plan the actual day of. If you need direction in closing your street down, first refer to my previous blog post.

This is where the fun really begins! The kids love hopping in the back of the truck to set out the street closure signs! They get up early with anticipation of the full day of partying. It’s a pancake breakfast that is an all day affair.

I often start setting up hours before 10 am (our start time) because I just can’t wait!

Set up details:

  • two tables for cooking

  • two griddles for pancakes

  • vegetable oil for pancakes (Lindsay’s grandma’s secret)

  • large pot with lid to hold hot pancakes

  • extra extension cords for when you blow a breaker

  • 3-4 more tables to hold potluck offerings from neighbors

  • syrup and butter ~ we like to hit Costco for extra large syrup!

10 am rolls around and the neighbors start to trickle over.

Bringing their food:

  • muffins

  • fruits

  • bacon

  • sausage

  • hard boiled eggs

  • juice

  • coffee

  • plates and cups

Food a such a great connector. Serve them up pancakes and let them visit as long as they want. We usually stay all day, order pizza for supper, play basketball on the street, and just grow as a community.
